The Academy Award for Finest Authentic Track is an award offered yearly by the Academy of Movement Image Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) as a part of the Academy Awards for achievements in filmmaking. The award is given to the songwriter(s) who created the perfect authentic music written particularly for a movie. To be eligible, the music have to be an authentic work and never tailored from an current music or musical composition.
The Finest Authentic Track class was first launched on the sixth Academy Awards in 1934. The primary winner was “The Continental” from the movie The Homosexual Divorcee. Since then, the award has been given to all kinds of songs, from basic ballads to upbeat pop tunes. Among the most well-known Finest Authentic Track winners embody “Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz, “Moon River” from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and “Let It Go” from Frozen.
